Santos Port Authority now requires a certificate of compliance for ballast water for ships

Starting in February 2025, the Santos Port Authority (APS) began requiring all vessels operating in the ports and terminals of Santos to present documentation proving compliance with international regulations regarding ballast water management.
If a vessel fails to provide this documentation, it may face access restrictions to the Port of Santos.
Before this regulation came into effect, ship inspections were conducted on a sample basis, relying on information provided by the ship’s captains. Now, all vessels will be monitored to ensure more efficient control.
